The University of Birmingham and its School of Chemical Engineering has significant expertise in the development, formulation, and application of novel food and beverage technologies and strategy. From food structure, formulation, function and performance, through to the safe management of plant and processes, we work with companies throughout the product development, manufacture and sale cycle. We carry out research that provides underpinning support to the food industry and drives innovation forward into new areas demanded by both consumers and policy makers.

We are driving innovation through collaborative research partnerships with business. The University of Birmingham collaborates with organisations of all sizes, from global corporates to local SMEs. We are ready to form partnerships with business, to work on transformative projects and make important things happen.
