The Watercress Company

The Watercress Company
UK, Spain , US

Watercress (Nasturtium officinale) is being showcased on the 20th at the Innovative Ingredients Theatre. At 10.45 Tom and James from The Watercress Company will join Dr. Lucy Williamson, Registered Nutritionist, to explain why watercress has exciting potential as a natural ingredient for sports performance and recovery. This will be followed by a Q&A session, live demonstration and tasting of delicious watercress smoothies.

Packed with isothiocyanates, specifically PEITC, high in Vitamin C & K and a source of iron, calcium and folate, there is an outstanding library of peer reviewed research available focussing on oncology, epigenetic response and the nutritional qualities of watercress

Watercress has impressive antioxidant functions based around isothiocyanate, the compound found in high volume in watercress and which gives it its characteristic peppery taste; contains natural nitrates - shown to boost VO2 max in athletic performance as well as being a great vegan source of protein.

The Watercress Company, industry leading in quality and technical standards, grow this nutritious crop year-round; we would love to meet you.

Join us on the 20th in the Match Hub or contact Tom or James to book an appointment to discuss research, use, availability and why it’s the next big ingredient
