STAND 57 - MADE IN CALABRIA, THE TOE OF ITALY'S BOOT
Sergio, who works with his brother Francesco, is a fourth generation Gaglioppo grower. The history of the estate began with his great-grandfather Peppe in 1880. His father, Peppe, opened his own winery in 1973 and in 2009, after the modernization of the winery, they started bottling wines with the big dream that these wines could be enjoyed outside Calabria. All vineyards are certified organic and yields are limited to 42 hl/ha. Spontaneous fermentation
takes place in open cement tanks, keeping the cap submerged for soft extraction. All wine is aged and matured in cement tanks and then in bottle.
