Head of Nutrition and Dietetics, Sodexo UK & Ireland
Wan Mak, a registered dietitian, with 30 years of experience in the field of nutrition and dietetics, is responsible for driving all aspects of nutrition, health and wellbeing for Sodexo’s clients, consumers and employees.
She works closely with various government and NGOs to support the public health agenda and advises Sodexo’s leadership team and senior management on topical issues around nutrition and allergens including UK and EU adopted regulations. She currently sits on a number of government advisory groups relating to Public Health.
Wan’s credentials include a first class honours degree in food science & nutrition, a post graduate degree in Dietetics, and a Masters in Business. Some of her previous roles include, clinical dietitian for the NHS and in the private sector, Programme Director and Lecturer in Nutrition/Dietetics and public health at leading Universities, not to mention her vast experience within foodservice and food manufacturing. A thought leader, Wan is the current Chairman of the Nutrition Expert group for the UK Hospitality and a former chair of British Hospitality Association’s nutrition group that represents over 40,000 hotels, restaurants, clubs, food service, attractions, serviced apartments and leisure companies. She is also a judge at a number of UK cross-sector events that supports innovative ideas to health and SME/start-ups.
