Gary Hughes

Gary Hughes started his food journey in R&D with Kellogg’s before moving on to the Graduate Program with The Co-op specialising in manufacturing oils, fats & spreads.

A broader grounding in the food industry followed with 6 years at Booker. Gary then joined Alembic Products as Development Manager creating sauces, mayonnaises & dressings for the short shelf life chilled industry, moving to Technical & Manufacturing Director before completing a Management Buy Out.

Gary then progressed to head up sauce, mayonnaise, dressings and industrial seasoning development at McCormick EMEA before moving to AAK to head up Customer Innovation in bakery, chocolate & dairy products

With a degree in Food Manufacture from Manchester Metropolitan University Gary has always loved food & food development – from keeping food industry experts right up to date with the ever changing trends &  food scene in London to leading talented teams of food technologists – food and the food industry has always been Gary’s passion.
