Brian is a registered dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council. Currently, he is a lecturer in Nutrition at UCL and an honorary senior dietitian at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He is a director of the British Dietetic Association and sits on the European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians Research and Evidence Based Practice Committee. In his role at UCL, he contributes to research-based, connected teaching and leads research with a particular focus on understanding eating practices. He was awarded a Council for Allied Health Professional Research Public Health Research Award in 2016 and a Dame Barbara Clayton Award in 2017, which recognises innovation and excellence in dietetics. His work is characterised by an interdisciplinary focus (e.g. health services research, dietetics, public health and health psychology).
