Postdoctoral Researcher, University of Surrey
Dr Andrea L. Darling is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Surrey. She has worked in vitamin D research since 2008, examining vitamin D status and bone health in UK women. She has published 14 peer-reviewed papers and 3 book chapters in the field of Nutrition. Of note, her key research on vitamin D in South Asian women was recently used to inform the new Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition UK guidelines for vitamin D (2016). It also contributed to the University of Surrey winning the Queens Anniversary Prize for Teaching and Research in Food and Nutrition (2018). She was previously a Research Associate in Epidemiology at the prestigious School of Public Health at Imperial College London. She is the current holder of the Royal Osteoporosis Society Young Scientist Award, as well as having won three previous Young Investigator Awards since 2009.
