Steffie’s passion for sustainability began when she volunteered as a community chef for her local soup kitchen. The project used surplus ingredients to provide nutritious meals for vulnerable people. This lead to a role at FareShare, the UK’s largest food redistribution charity. On secondment to Tesco, she helped to launch and develop the award-winning Community Food programme - enabling millions of meals to be diverted from waste and donated. She recently joined Karma, the food-rescue tech company, listed as one of Europe’s hottest start-ups by Wired. As Head of UK Grocery at Karma she is working hard to help the retail industry become more sustainable and profitable.
