Research Director Early Life Development, Danone Nutricia Research
After completing a PhD in Neuroendocrinology at the Utrecht University (1994), Eline van der Beek worked at the Wageningen University. She joined Numico Research in 2000 leading a research team in Physiology and became responsible for ‘Metabolic Programming’ research in 2007. From 2010 until 2015 she was Research Director of Danone-Nutricia Early Life Nutrition in Singapore, with focus on maternal and child health. Since 2015 she is heading the Centre of Excellence in Metabolism & Growth at Danone Nutricia Research in Utrecht. In June 2016, Eline was appointed as Professor in “Nutritional Programming” at the University of Groningen, Department of Pediatrics of the University Medical Centre Groningen. She studies nutritional programming in early life, understanding the contribution of maternal health and the role of nutrient quality during early development to later life health. Eline is a (co)inventor >25 patent applications and has published >90 articles in peer reviewed journals.
