Julia Marriott

Julia Marriott is a Dietitian with over 20 years’ experience in both adult and paediatric specialties. In this time she has seen a huge increase in both number and complexity of children being diagnosed with allergy, particularly non-IgE, which often leads to multiple symptoms affecting the gastrointestinal tract. She has recently moved from being hospital based, into the community to set up an Allergy Service to improve speed of diagnosis and management for these patients.

Bringing the joy of eating back to patients is always something she’s particularly enjoyed, trying to focus of what you can rather than what you can’t eat. Having two children with multiple allergies means she also has a wealth of practical advice for patients new to free from diets.

She has been involved in judging for Free From Food Awards for 6 years, which as well as being a great way to discover new products, also gives the valuable opportunity to meet manufacturers and discuss the needs of patients.
