Dr Duane Mellor

Dr Duane Mellor is a UK qualified registered dietitian who is also an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (Australia) and Association for Nutrition Registered Dietitian. He began his research career exploring the effects of high polyphenol chocolate on cardiovascular risk in type 2 diabetes at the University of Hull. Since then he has worked at universities in the UK and Australia. His research and professional interests are largely in the prevention and management of chronic disease and has been a member of the Diabetes UK Nutrition Working Group which produced the updated guidelines earlier this year. He is also interested in the communication of nutrition and health related information being a regular contributor to the academic news website The Conversation as well as a variety of media outlets including providing expert input into a number of television and radio shows through his role as a spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association
