Charlie Neilens

Charlie is a trained pastry Chef and member of the British Sugar Craft Guild. She ran a Celebration cake and coffee shop business for several years before being diagnosed Coeliac. Ultimately her condition unfortunately led to the closure of that business and a short time in purely customer service roles.  However last year, following diagnosis of multiple Auto Immune conditions, she decided, with her partner, to launch a new purely Allergen Free Food business, Willow Cottage Kitchen, thus allowing her to pursue her passion for creating  not only bespoke cakes but also sharing the nourishing wholesome meals she perfected post diagnosis.  The last year has seen Willow Cottage Kitchen gain two prestigious FreeFrom Food Awards as well as a Nourish Award and bring shortlisted for a Customer Excellence Award from the North East Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and voted the Best for Bespoke Allergen Free Cakes 2018 – Liverpool by SME News Business Elite Programme. Willow Cottages Kitchen’s new ‘Bally-Ann’ range of ready meals is just about to go into production having been taste tested and launched at the Allergy + Free From Show Winter earlier this month.  In what little spare time she has Charlie likes to potter in the garden of her Cheshire home with her pet chicken and assorted wildlife.
