Dr Lauren McGale completed her PhD as part of the Appetite and Obesity Research Group at the University of Liverpool. The focus of her research was quantifying the nature and the extent of marketing to children via food packaging in UK supermarkets and assessing the influence of these techniques (e.g. brand equity characters, portion size depictions, traffic light food labelling) on children’s food behaviours (e.g. food choice, preference, serving and consumption). She currently works as a research assistant on a long-term weight management trial at the University of Liverpool, which involves behavioural, psychological and physiological measures.
