A truer sentence has not been written about free-from for a good long while - and no longer will cutting out all tasty foods cut the allergenic mustard - if you want to draw the purchasing power of free-from lifestylers, allergics, intolerants, coeliacs, anaphylactics and their families to your eatery, you will need to put in a bit more effort!
The FreeFrom Eating Out Awards were launched to raise awareness of the huge opportunities offered by ‘free-from' food within the food service sector when the allergen regulations affecting food service came into force. Open to restaurants, pubs, cafés, tea shops, fish and chip shops, guest houses and B&Bs. In the not for profit sector, there are categories for colleges and universities. There is also a category for foods manufactured for foodservice.
Celebrity Chef Giorgio Locatelli, whose teenage daughter has multiple severe food allergies, will be presenting the winners of the awards – via a big screen from Dubai – at Food Matters Live on Tuesday 21st November 2017, from 3.30pm.
Visitors to Food Matters Live are invited to attend the awards presentation, and places are available on a first come first served basis.
