Food and drink is the UK’s largest manufacturing industry – exporting significantly more to the EU than it does further afield. It also relies heavily on an EU-workforce. While Brexit presents the sector with some complex challenges ahead - experts say it could also open up the UK to untapped export markets, as well as offer more opportunities for British food and drink within the UK. So what are the prospects for the industry on leaving the EU? And how can it ensure any new trade deals maintain welfare and environmental standards?
