Looking at different aspects of lifestyle brands, Erik notes those who have successfully marketed themselves and scaled up due to their focus on values such as empathy, transparency, ethics, creativity and sustainability.

Erik has built a reputation as one of the UK’s leading food consultants working with owners and brands to craft strategies for expanding businesses. With particular expertise in building brands with ethics and sustainability at their core, Erik’s consultancy, Merika, craft successful long-term growth strategies and USP’s that connect with the consumer.

Erik’s career spans more than 2 decades during which time he has built up a solid track record in delivering sustained value for his clients. Erik has helped create some of the UK’s pioneering food brands in the sector including Daylesford Organics, Duchy Originals, Rebel Kitchen, Karma Cola and Linda McCartney Foods.

He holds an MBA from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chausées in Paris and Buenos Aires and a BA in International Business from Niels Brock Copenhagen Business School. Erik set-up Merika in 2002 as a vehicle for his consultancy services. He enabled the establishment of the Meat Free Monday initiative with Sir Paul McCartney and is also on the Advisory Board for the Allergy Kids Foundation.
