Degree-qualified Chemical Engineer and Chartered member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers. Recent roles covering Head of Capital Projects responsible for the delivery of the capital investment programme across British Sugar, Co-Product Strategy development and Company Environment Manager. Career history primarily within a manufacturing environment, progressing through a variety of engineering, operational, projects and strategic roles both in the UK and overseas.

Responsible for leading the business’ agenda on environmental performance, legislation and change, sustainability, along with leading the BREF implementation programme (Best Practice Reference document) for permitted processes.

- Environmental legislation leadership, focusing on lobbying activity and legislation guidance, to ensure that medium-long term legislation changes and risks are understood and mitigation plans in place.

- Leading Sustainability developments to meet targets for reductions in energy and CO2, water usage and reduction in plastic usage.

- Creation of 5-year roadmap to ensure BREF compliance by site, including options analysis on sequence of events, estimated costs, compliance and technical options; ensuring Environment Agency (EA) alignment & engagement in the plans.
