Congratulations to Nutural World who won the Unilever Innovation Competition at Food Matters Live 2016.

Unilever brands were looking for innovative ideas and companies to work with their spread brands – Bertolli, Flora and Flora ProActiv and companies were invited to pitch in response to the following challenges:

1. Bertolli has a range of olive oil based spreads currently on the UK market.   If Bertolli were to expand into adjacent product categories which ones should it enter?  

2. Flora: do you have an idea for a tasty, plant based foods product or a technology that can help people to discover how tasty plant-based food can be? 

3. Flora ProActiv is a brand that helps consumers lowering their cholesterol with the natural power of added plant sterols. If Flora ProActiv spreads were to expand into helping solving other health conditions using natural ingredients which have perceived health benefit, which new products could that be?

On wining the £5,000 prize and the chance to work with Unilever, Mordechai Chachamu, founder of Nutural World said: 

“when it was announced that I won the first prize I felt a huge rush of excitement and relief. The recognition in the originality and innovation of my ideas for nut and seed base spreads is a highly significant milestone in the history of my company, Nutural World. I am now looking forward to further cooperation with the Unilever Food Foundry team.”
