Whether they’re contemplating colleges, cars or communities, Americans are hooked on ratings and rankings: "safest", "best value", "most walkable" or other distinctions that makes one choice more desirable than another. With life expectancy in the US actually declining, obesity rates at an all-time high and more than 100 million Americans living with diabetes or pre-diabetes, the time has come for an independent ranking system that judges and showcases food and beverage companies’ progress in selling healthier products.
