Member Focus - Univeristy College Birmingham

27th October 2020

Our member focus for this month is University College Birmingham who chaired the opening discussion at our last virtual meet up on 15th October, ‘Inspiring the Future of Food & Nutrition’.

University College Birmingham (Accredited by the University of Birmingham) is one of the leading specialist institutions offering a wide portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in food and nutrition, Culinary Arts and Bakery and Patisserie Technology. Our facilities range from training restaurants – quoted in the financial times as ‘Birmingham’s best kept secret’ and endorsed by Gordon Ramsay as the ‘Ferrari of catering and hospitality intuitions’ plus a Food Science and Innovation Suite which includes, food testing labs, purpose built product development kitchens, bespoke food sensory and evaluation lab and food demonstration lecture theatre regularly used by popular TV programmes.

The University has recently invested £130 million across all four campuses to ensure our practical facilities provide our students with the very best experience and to our facilities replicate the industries we serve. The best teaching facilities combined with our highly experienced and knowledgeable staff makes UCB an obvious choice for many students applying from around the world.

Find your Future and how to get there - hired@UCB is the careers and employability placement service for students and Alumni at UCB. A team of specialist staff are available to support students to find placements and build the skills needed to be successful in the world of work.
