Phiala joined MMR when there were just four people and has seen it grow to be an international company employing over 150 people. In 2007 she was tasked with setting up the Sensory Science Centre at Reading University, and other panels quickly followed. She now manages panels for MMR and clients panel in the UK, Singapore and China covering a huge range of food, drink, personal and home care products including projects which deconstruct the user experience to understand what characteristics of products influencing things like the perception of quality, value, security, ease of use and benefit of use.
