Policy lead, Healthy Weight Team, Department of Health and Social Care
Tom Wood is currently a policy lead within the Healthy Weight Team at the Department of Health and Social Care where he has worked since 2017. Recently, he worked on the development of the Government’s July 2020 obesity strategy and is currently responsible for delivering a number of actions arising from it, in particular, the Government’s commitment to introduce mandatory calorie labelling in the out-of-home sector.
Previously, Tom worked for the Department of Work and Pensions prior to joining the Civil Service completed a master’s degree in nutrition and food science at Reading University.
