Mr. Sky Kurtz is the Chief Executive Officer of Pure Harvest Smart Farms and is a pioneer in the agritech sector. Pure Harvest develops world-leading controlled-environment agriculture technologies to deliver the best quality produce. High-tech greenhouses provide precise climate and environmental controls, enabling increased productivity and reduced waste (including water, energy & time).
Since its inception, the Company has raised $138 million making the Company the most funded startup in the Middle East, ranked by Forbes Middle East. In 2020, the firm entered into a firstof- its-kind multi-year offtake partnership with The Sultan Centre (TSC) in Kuwait; and now supplies its tomatoes to several retailers in the UAE with plans to expand to Saudi Arabia.
Prior to starting Pure Harvest, Mr. Kurtz was a Senior Executive with Francisco Partners, a $15 billion tech investment firm based in California a company which is also affiliated with Sequoia Capital. As part of this role Mr. Kurtz invested in and sat on the boards of a number of companies with annual turnover running from $2-500 million dollars.
Mr. Kurtz was awarded an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) and holds a B.S. in Finance from ASU’s W.P. Carey School of Business where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was named the Turken Family Outstanding Graduating Senior (valedictory honor).
