Kavita Karnik

As Global Head of Nutrition, Regulatory and Scientific Affairs at Tate & Lyle PLC, Kavita is responsible for the nutrition science function, which provides credible scientific support for the company’s ingredients portfolio through a strategic nutrition science research and education programme. She also leads Tate & Lyle’s Regulatory and Scientific Affairs group, which is responsible for global regulatory approvals and the claims strategy for new and existing products.

Dr Karnik has previously held various global roles in nutrition and health-related commercial environments for multinational corporations such as Unilever, Pfizer and Nestle. She has been involved in academic research by holding various positions at the University of Surrey; the University of Derby; Cranfield University; and the Institute of Clinical Research, India. After completing a degree in Medicine from India, Dr Karnik received her Master’s and PhD in Nutrition from the University of Sheffield, UK.
