Economist, Subregional Office for GCC States and Yemen, Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations
Armen Sedrakyan is the FAO Economist in the Subregional Office for the Gulf Cooperation Council States and Yemen, with over 15 years of experience in programmes on food security, rural and agricultural development. Before joining FAO Subregional office in the UAE, Armen worked as FAO Policy Officer in Kyrgyzstan and provided substantial technical support in formulating the Food Security and Nutrition Programme. He contributed to the monitoring of the Bangladesh Investment Plan for Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition 2011-2016. He also coordinated capacity strengthening projects in food security information systems in Tajikistan. Armen holds a Master of Arts degree in International Economics from Yerevan State University and PhD in Economics from the Research Institute of Agricultural Economics of Armenia.
